Tip From The Trenches

Date Published: March 25 2014

Q: Regarding weekend and after hour deliveries, is it acceptable to deliver equipment prior to receiving the WOPD and F2F, then pickup up and redeliver once the documentation is received?

A: No. If you deliver an item prior to receiving a Written Order Prior to Delivery, according to the written rules (NHIC, Corp Quarterly ACT posted March 20, 2014. Quarterly ACT Q&A call conducted Feb. 26, 2014) the beneficiary must go to another supplier and start over and meet all criteria listed in the LCD in order for Medicare to reimburse the claim.
